LET ME SHINE

Susie Rolander is a person who brings positivity to every experience she has with another human being. Her ability to see and start from a person’s strengths truly embodies our mantra “Let Me Shine.”  Susie is a student of children, a passionate reader & writer, literacy consultant, adjunct instructor at Bank Street College of Education, and a reading specialist at PS234. She is a humble mom of three awesome girls who each bring their own individualities to the Rolander family! If you wonder how she does all of this and still finds a little time for herself, Justin does too! Susie loves pilates, taking morning walks along the Hudson River and trying to understand Justin’s extremely witty nature (or at least Justin thinks it’s witty).  Truly, Susie’s ability to see people for who they are, even if they don’t see it themselves, breaks down the layers of doubt for Justin and is the reason this journey began.

Justin Dolcimascolo is a gifted educator.  He has been letting students shine for over 16 years.  He inspires students and teachers alike, always yearning to learn.  Justin loves new experiences, enthusiasm, collaborations, metaphors, innocence, quotes, connections and learning.  Can you believe that he actually likes to get lost?  He also keeps his spices in alphabetical order!  Who knew!!  Susie definitely doesn’t keep her spices in alphabetical order...good thing someone does.  His strengths compliment Susie’s beautifully.  He is Susie’s fabulous writing partner and treasured friend who is amazingly positive and motivational. She would not be where she is today without him.  He magically makes it all possible.

While we have known each other for only six months, our shared passion

around Letting Humans Shine has made our connection span a lifetime.  

We are thrilled to be on this journey together and are driven to learn

more alongside all of you.
